2 weeks post up after mastectomy, nobody informed me of the depression exhaustion and lack of motivation, now I have to visit my g.p. This afternoon as wind site is infected. I thought at least once I left hospital someone would have checked how I was coping. Seems not

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to read how you're feeling at the moment and that your wound site is infected. You should have been assigned a BCNS (breast cancer nurse specialist) as a point of contact if you have any problems. If you have it might be worth giving her a call to explain how you're feeling as she may be able to help.

I can see that you've joined the breast cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support. When you're ready to post there clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can start a new post and introduce yourself and also join in with existing conversations.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm really sorry to read that you have been diagnosed twice before with breast cancer and I can understand how scary it must be for you to be diagnosed again.

The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support..

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
