Sorry for the brain dump as I just don’t know where to start.
My dad has had a Gastroscopy today and they have found a 3cm growth, he’s now being sent for a full body scan then they can talk about treatment. The next 2 weeks are going to be the longest ever.
I’m hoping they have caught it early enough, not just for my dad, but for us all as a family. I can’t let this disease take another person I love away again!
Hi Crobin28 and welcome to the Online Community but I am so sorry to read about your dad being investigated for cancer but I do hope you will find the support available in the community helpful at this difficult and challenging time.
A Gastroscopy is used to check various areas of the body so if you find he ends up on a cancer journey have a look through this list and these are our cancer specific support groups. These groups are good places for you to connect with other folks who may be on the same cancer support pathway.
Navigating the community will depend on the device you are using. To join a group just look through the above list then choose 'click to join' or 'join' on the specific group page you want to join.
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a post by clicking on ‘New Thread’ or ‘New here, say hello’ then hit the box with the X on the top right (phones).
You could just copy and paste the text from this your first post and you can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.
When it comes to the practical challenges of supporting someone you may benefit from talking with others caring for family and friends so can I recommend that you join our supportive Family and friends group where you will connect with others supporting family and friends
