Hey everyone.

So I’m totally new here and am 4 days removed from a radical inguinal orchiectomy to remove my left testes after suspected cancer. Im waiting on the histology results and recovering now but thought joining here may be worthwhile.

Im still coming to terms with what’s happened to me in such a short space of time (just 6 weeks since first going to my doctor) and it’s not really hit me yet I don’t think.
So yeh. Nice to meet you all!

Brett :)

  • Hi  MagicBert and welcome.

I'm pretty much a newcomer myself after being diagnosed with stage 3 melanoma in July and although lots has happened I still do feel bewildered often.

Well done on coping with your surgery and it sounds like a good quick turn around time.

Just try and look after yourself to help the healing process, eat healthy gentle exercise etc.

I'm sure you're right about it not hitting you yet and as you're waiting on histology results too you most probably won't start any processing until those results are through as I guess like most people you will want to know what happens next!

    Take care x

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community.

I am so sorry to read about your diagnosis and treatment but I hope you will find the support available in the community helpful at this difficult and challenging time.

Talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer treatment path (my one is completely different) will help you navigate this unwanted journey.

The New to Community is like the Community Reception area and as there are many cancer types and experiences so likewise the Community has many support groups but I see you have joined and posted in our supportive Testicular cancer group as this will be a good place for you to connect with other folks who may be on the same cancer treatment pathway.

It’s always good to talk so do call the Macmillan Support Services on 0808 808 00 00 - most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week Clicking here to see what is available. This service provides lots of cancer information, emotional support, financial guidance or just a listening ear.

To find information covering diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers check our Online Information and Support Section

    All the very best.
