Hi. I am glad to be a part of this community.
I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and have been undergoing chemotherapy since diagnosis at the end of July. I thankfully have not been feeling too bad just very physically exhausted. I am struggling with my appearance though and I hate looking in the mirror and not recognising the person looking back. Does anyone else struggle with this? It feels silly because it’s such a minor part in perspective but I cannot stop thinking about how long it will be until I start to look and feel like myself again. I’ve lost all confidence.
Hi and welcome to the Online Community. I am so sorry to read about your HL journey but I hope you will find the support available in the community helpful at this difficult and challenging time.
I am Mike Thehighlander and I help out around our Lymphoma groups. I don’t have HL but was diagnosed way back in 1999 with a rare incurable but treatable type of skin Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4a and although my blood cancer ‘type’ is different I have experienced most types of treatments used but not necessarily the exact same drug mix.
You may find talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer treatment path will help you navigate this unwanted journey so rather than put up answers on this post could I suggest you join our supportive Hodgkin lymphoma group as this will be a good place for you to connect with other folks who may be on the same cancer treatment pathway.
