restrictions due to covid for family members to visit how to escalate so my sister dies with dignity and there own wishes on how this should happen. apparently up to nurse in charge on the day, so desperate to be at my sisters side only next of kin allowed in to visit
Hi and welcome to the Online Community.
I am so sorry to read about the challenges you are facing surrounding your sister who is in hospital and the ongoing restrictions that Covid has brought into our lives.
I experienced this problem back in November last year as my mum (91) was suddenly taken to hospital, we did the 3hr drive to the hospital but as I am in the Clinically Extremely Vulnerable (CEV) group (the one with the cancer) I was strongly advised that the ward my mum was in was not safe for someone in the CEV group. However my wife managed to get in to be with her with 5 mins to spare. It was a challenging decision but on reflection the best for my wider family.
Talking with others who are walking the same type of journey will help you navigate this challenging time so can I recommend that you join our supportive Family and friends, Carers only and Supporting someone with incurable cancer groups where you will connect with others supporting family and some may well have first hand experiences to share around navigating the problems you are facing.
