Hi i have just been diagnosed with lung cancer thankfully doesn't look like it's spread .looking on pet scan. Had a biopsy done last week still waiting for results and where we go from there I don't now if it's normal to still have a cough after biopsey as I never had a cough before not even before diagnosis. The other thing is I'm constantly tired fatigued tried going back to work before treatment starts and be as normal as i can be but I'm to tired it's that old saying I'm tired of being tired. And this is just the beginning. I can't stop crying now I've started Cry

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the Online Community. We all know what it's like to be told the words you thought you'd never hear and we've wept buckets as well.

However now the diagnosis has been made, your team will be devising a treatment plan and by joining this forum you'll get emotional support and a lot of answers to your questions. You're not alone, we're all in this together.

My cancer is different, but a cancer diagnosis of any kind makes us ask lots of questions, causes confusion, stress and probably emotions we’ve never experienced before.  I’m going to suggest you join our Lung cancer group, this will be a good place to connect with others making the same type of cancer journey and I'm flagging the forum champ, to pop along and say hello.

It’s always helpful to others if you write a little something (or a lot) about yourself and your journey to date. You can enter it into your profile (click on your username and select “Profile”) It’s helpful to other members with a similar diagnosis who can then hopefully answer your questions. It also means that you don't have to keep writing the same thing over and over. You can amend or update it at any time.

To find more information covering diagnosis and treatments there are pages covering most types of cancers which can be found on our Online Information and Support Section

Macmillan Support Services also offer lots of information, support, financial guidance or just someone to listen. It’s free to call 0808 808 0000. Most services are available 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look by Clicking here to see what is available and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two to three working days for replies from our expert team.

Sending you welcoming hugs B xx
