Hello! I had a double mastectomy and reconstruction 3 years ago and am now taking Tamoxifen for 10 years. It was lobular cancer. I had no chemo or radiotherapy but a DIEP flap reconstruction which took 9 hours and 5 infections afterwards which saw me nearly loose my boobs
as I wen straight to the operation in another city, I’ve got no oncologist or doctor I can talk to regarding side affects.
any advice would be awesome

I'm sorry to read that you don't have either a doctor or oncologist that you can talk to about side effects. Were you assigned a BCNS (breast cancer nurse specialist) as she should be able to answer any questions for you?
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'.
