Hi there,
I am 50 and was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer on Monday. I pretty much expected the diagnosis. Just getting used to things and adjusting at the moment. Luckily, I have an amazing husband of 2 months who is keeping me smiling. I'm booked in for a lumpectomy on 8th September. I'm a teacher, so not sure how things will go work wise. I know my school will be extremely supportive, but the breast care nurse has said I may need 3 months depending on future treatment. All feels a bit surreal at the moment, but I'm feeling positive.
Hi Colliewobble and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer but it's great that you have a supportive husband and employer.
I can see that you've already joined and posted in the breast cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
