Hello Everyone,
I'm sorry for all that you're going through in the face of cancer.
I have joined here today because my dear Mum has been battling with advanced melanoma since mid May. My husband and I have been looking after her since her operation.
I have been awed by much of the care and support we have received. This has really helped but most of the time I don't really know what I'm doing! She is about to go through urgent tests, which may take us to the world of palliative care. To be honest, I'm really freaking out about this and this whole thing has like an emotional rollercoaster! has anyone else been there, particularly advanced melanoma? I would love to hear your story!
Thank you. Tseba
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I was diagnosed with melanoma nearly 5 years ago now and have found this community a great place for support.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join us over in the melanoma group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support and where you'll find others with advanced melanoma.
To join the group just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
x
