Hello, I’m Sophie, Ive very recently been diagnosed with lung cancer. I’m 24. They are moving along with treatment quickly with chemo starting next Friday and they have booked me in for a picc line. does anyone have any experience with a picc line? I’ve always been terrified of needles so I’m thinking it would be a good idea but I would also be nervous with it being left in.
Also any advice for starting chemo would be appreciated. Thank you all and best wishes
Hi Sophie and welcome to the Online Community but so sorry to hear about your Lung Cancer diagnosis.
A cancer diagnosis can be challenging in so many ways but talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer treatment journey will help you a lot.
My cancer is completely different but I did have a PICC line and it was great. Quick to put in place and then you don’t have to be like a pin cushion for all your blood tests.
The New to Community is like the Community Reception area and as there are many cancer types and experiences so likewise the Community has many support groups but I see you have joined our supportive Lung Cancer group as this will be a good place to connect with folks who may be on the same cancer treatment pathway.
