Hello, my name is Kate and around 6weeks ago my life was turned upside down. A scan and x-ray showed a collapsed lung filled with fluid and a suspicious shadow, an amount of fluid was drained and showed nothing suspicious. Admitted to hosp and 3liters of fluid drained over 4 days, discharged and further scans show lung filling up with fluid again, awaiting yet another scan to determine where they will insert the camera. At my last hosp visit, cancer was mentioned for the first time due to the finding of abnormal cells. I look after my husband who has heart failure and limited mobility, and at night when I can't sleep this worries me as he can't manage alone. Thank you for "listening". Kate
Hi Kate and a warm welcome to the online community
You are right that becoming ill does turn your life upside down. I'm hoping that your diagnosis won't turn out to be cancer but I can see that you've joined the lung cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support. When you feel ready to post there clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
