Hi Everyone,
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in early 2020 and was fortunate to have my prostate removed in July 2020 and my last P S A reading in May 2021 came back with a reading of 0.01 so at the moment consider myself very fortunate. Due to my wife having suffered with a very rare condition for which she been out of hospital on a regular basis for the last 8 years this and being diagnosed with cancer has taken it's toll on me mentally and I am now suffering with depression and anger problems . I was wondering if anyone could come up with any suggestions of where I can seek help and advice for this . I have spoken to my G.P. but their has not been a lot of help offered. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.
Regards Grandad Devon
Hi and welcome to the Community, sounds such a hard time for you over these years.
Talking to people face to face can indeed help a lot but during these strange times it’s not that available but do check to see if you have any Local Macmillan Support in your area has opened up.
Do also check out for a local Maggie’s Centre as these folks are amazing. During lockdown a lot of their services moved onto online video support. But I see our local Maggie’s (Inverness) are starting to open up for one on one support.
You could call the Macmillan Support Services on 0808 808 00 00 - most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week Clicking here to see what is available. This service provides lots of cancer information, support or just a listening ear.
High Mike - Thehighlander , Thank you for welcoming me to the community. I will make enquiries regarding what you have suggested. Maggies is one of the places that was suggested to my wife that I should try.
Thank you

Over my many years I have had great help from our local Maggie’s Centre with lots of one on one support, cancer specific group support….. until the lockdown we were having a weekly men’s circuits class and lunch…… highly recommended for me.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
