Morning Everyone.
My mum who is 65 was diagnosed in May over the last few weeks I have watched her waste away as you is struggling to eat, but I feel so useless. Been suggesting lots of different foods to try but she just pulls a face and wont give them a go, I cant get to speak to the doctor and also havent spoken to her assigned mcmillan nurse so only know what mum is telling me which is cherry picked and she is just putting a fake face on it all. Pain is a major thing at the moment but she is not in a routine with her medication. Past the emotional stage now and in the Angry and frustrated just need to be able to do something any suggestions.
Hi and welcome to the Online Community but so sorry to hear about your mum’s diagnosis and the ongoing problems you are dealing with….. being the person with the cancer and having eating problems in the past I can understand your mum but also your frustrations.
Talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer support journey will help you navigate this difficult time.
The community is made up of various support groups so do look through the list of Cancer specific groups where you can talk with others who have walked or are walking this cancer journey. Once you find the best group(s) for her cancer so join the group just click on the link above then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens.
You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘New Thread’ or hit the box with the X on the top right (phones), you could just copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.
