Dad just been diagnosed with a high grade NHL at 88. Having the first meeting with Consultant to find out what it’s all about and feeling nervous. He’s currently in hospital and they want to start some form of treatment whilst he’s in. Not sure yet if chemo is an option. Don’t know what questions to ask.

  • Hi  and warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although sorry that you had to find us and especially sorry to hear about your Lymphoma diagnosis.

I am Mike Thehighlander and I help out around our blood cancer groups. I was diagnosed back in 1999 with a rare skin Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma so have been on this journey rather a long time.

There are over 60 types and subtypes of Lymphoma so we can’t have a group for every type but these are our main Lymphoma groups below:

    General Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma

    Follicular Lymphoma

    Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma

    Mantel Cell Lymphoma

    T-Cell Lymphoma

Have a look at the names then join the best group for your type or if you don’t know the exact type join the General NHL group by clicking on the link then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens.

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘New Thread’ or hit the box with the X on the top right (phones). You can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

I will keep an eye open for you but if you are not sure get back to me on this post and I will help you out further.

    ((hugs))

    Mike (Thehighlander)
