Hi everyone, I'm Eliza from the Community team. Welcome to the Online Community, we hope that you'll find support and kindness here on the site.

Managing your own care can be necessary when dealing with an illness or long-term health condition. It can be overwhelming to think about at first, especially when you might have been recently diagnosed. We have some tips from the Community on understanding your diagnosis, finding the right information, managing treatment and lifestyle changes.

Find out more in our recent Community News blog, "Self-management for your own health and healthcare."

  • Hi Buba,

Thanks for your comment, I'm Eliza from the Community team. I'm sorry to hear that you've just received a new diagnosis. I hope you'll find lots of comfort and support here on the Online Community.

It sounds like you might find it helpful to post in our "Breast cancer" group. This is a safe place to talk to other people who might have a similar diagnosis.

If you'd like to introduce yourself in this group, you firstly just need to join the group by clicking on the black banner that says "click to join" at the bottom, or the "Join" button under "Group tools."

You can then write a new post by clicking "+New" or "+" in the top right corner next to the group title. You can also scroll through the groups to click on other members' posts and write a reply to talk to them.

If you feel that you might want any further help using the Community or if you have any questions, you can reach us here in the Community team by sending a private message to our 'Moderator - Macmillan Community' account, or by emailing us directly at community@macmillan.org.uk.

    Take care,

    Eliza
