I am presently undergoing treatment via a trial using PRRT and next tuesday will see the forth and last infusion of this Radio Active medication. In addition I have monthly injections of Somatuline Autogel.I feel I coped well with the first two treatments.Although there were side effects they were gone in two to three weeks and had it not been for the lock down I might have had a reasonable quality of life as predicted. However my experience with the third treatment has been totally different.I have had stomach problems, gas problems ,High Blood Pressure a feeling of tension through the whole of my body ,I get angry quickly and can take issue with small aggravations. The PRRT treatment had stabilised the growth of the tumour and now I am wondering if this position has been reversed .I am due scans next week but Kings ,where I have the treatment ,say they cannot tell a great deal until three years has passed. What I really want to know is if there is anybody out there who is suffering the Mental issues I am and whether there is anything that can be done to calm me down.I am not pleasant to live with and there are times when I feel desolate.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

It sounds like you've had a lot to deal with over the last few months so I'm glad that you're reaching out to others here.

The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the neuroendocrine cancer group as it's a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
