Hi everyone,
Not sure why I'm here, maybe looking for answers, I don't know.
My names Beckii, I've just turned 29.
After finding a lump in my right breast last December, followed by a second lump under my right arm I had an ultrasound scan and biopsy taken on the 7th Jan (2021)
On 14th Jan I got the devastating news I had invasive ductal breast cancer of my right breast, which had spread to the lymphnodes under my arm. I had no other symptoms other than feeling the lumps. I have no family history and I was actually 28 when I was diagnosed (recently turned 29)
I have a husband and 2 young boys aged 2 & 3.
I've had a mastectomy and a full lymphnode clearance 10 days ago. CT showed cancer hadn't spread elsewhere which was a relief
I'm currently recovering from my op and awaiting chemo and radiotherapy for when I am fit and well. I have been shouting about my story over social media, as I am very young and have no family history !!
The support I've had has been incredible, from family and friends. Very overwhelming.
I know its going to be tough, but my focus is my little boys, and I am determined to stay positive and get through this!!
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and it's perfectly normal to feel like you do.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the main breast cancer group and also the breast cancer for the under-50s group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
x
