finished 36 sessions of radiotherapy in Nov of 2019. and was diagnosed with Osteoradionecrosis soon after. I have no problem with chewing, talking or swallowing but do suffer pain when trying to open my mouth any more than a little. I haven't been able to take large bites of food for quite a while but the situation is getting much worse recently. I had a tooth extraction and a further biopsy about a month ago which seems to have increase the problem. What concerns me is that this wasn't really a problem for a very long time but now seems to be here with a vengeance. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Hi big guy 73 pop onto the Head and Neck cancer group. There are threads on this though only a few as it’s not common. Copy and paste your question and I’ll get you a link to a lady with osteoradionecrosis who posted just today. I’m afraid it’s a problem with a lifelong risk that all of us who have had radiotherapy to the jaw have to contend with.
Meanwhile I would suggest you get straight back to the hospital if you haven’t already. as there are things that can be done to mitigate the damage. Best of luck
Dani
