I'm really stuck with where to seek advice for helping my mum care for my nan.
In September 19 my nan was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer which has spread to her lungs and bones.
My mum works and also takes my nan to all her appointments and sadly due to covid I can't be around to support her physically.
We recently were told that my hand cancer has progressed. My nan doesn't wish to know many details and my mum is finding hard to know how to prepare as her condition worsens how to care for her and what the next steps are.
Just wondering if anyone can advise me how I can help my mum sourcing information and support. My mum doesn't like to make a fuss over herself but I can hear in her voice she is completely understandably overwhelmed.
Any advice would be so grately appreciated.
Hi and welcome to the online community
Firstly, I'm very sorry that your post was missed yesterday. Normally posts in this section of the community get picked up within a short time of being posted.
The community is a great place to find both information and support for your mum. Do you think she would join as she could then join and post in the family and friends group where she could connect with others who have a family member living with cancer.
You could also show your mum this information from Macmillan on looking after someone with cancer as it includes lots of information. She could also download the booklet.
