Hi , I have read so many similar personal journey's and have realised I am not the only one feeling this way . My husband of 27yrs  just turned 54 and after 9 years of fighting , is now at home receiving EOL care . He has not eaten for 5 days and sleeps most of the time. I am broken xx

Words are limited in response to your post... I am so very sorry to read that after 9 years the battle has brought you both to accepting EOL care.

I don't know anymore than you have shared above, but I can't begin to imagine where you are within yourself . The time you have shared together is priceless and I hope that you are able to remain as strong as possible.

I want to reach out to you, yet I know, with what is taking place and you feeling so broken, the reaching you will be harder, but please know, there are people here for you always.

  • So sorry to hear the journey you as a family are on.

You may find talking with other people who are on the same support journey may be helpful as you are not alone in this.

The Community is organised into support groups so you may want to join our supportive Carers only and Supporting someone with incurable cancer groups as this is the place where you will connect with others walking this journey.

Follow the above links then choose ‘click to join' or ‘join’ when the page opens. You can then introduce yourself, post questions or just  join in with existing discussions by clicking on 'reply'.

It’s always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listing ear.

Most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week and it's free to call on 0808 808 00 00 have a look by Clicking here to see what is available and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two working days for replies from our expert team.
