Sadly had some news on Wednesday, that my Dad has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He had bowl cancer 15 years ago, so l have been threw these emotions before. This time is hard for a lot of people to the pandemic and can't visit family due to Lockdown. I am currently Sheilding which makes me feel more vulnerable and not had the vaccine yet, l feel all l can do is ring them up daily get ove the initial shock first and keep strong and postive. As my dad can only have basic treatment due to other health issues as he does have CPOD already.
Hi and a warm welcome to the Online Community, a Community that no one really looks to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your dad’s Lung Cancer diagnosis.
As you know a cancer diagnosis brings confusion, stress and many questions but I found talking with other people who are on the same type of journey helped a lot.
The Community is organised into support groups so you may want to start by joining our supportive Lung Cancer group as this is the place where you will connect with others walking the treatment journey both as patient or family.
Follow the above link then choose ‘click to join' or ‘join’ when the page opens. You can then introduce yourself, post questions or just join in with existing discussions by clicking on 'reply'.
Talking with others caring for family and friends will help a lot so do checkout our Family and friends and Supporting someone with incurable cancer groups as you will connect with others walking the same journey supporting family and friends through their cancer journey.
