My husband was diagnosed with non operable pancreatic cancer at beginning of December. Waiting for tests and then results due to the Christmas bank holiday etc is torture. Our heads are spinning and all the while I am trying to hold it together when I'm falling apart inside. Chemo should have started last week but the biopsies were inconclusive so he had a repeat EUS and more biopsies on Friday, so hope these will give the info the oncologist needs to begin treatment. A repeat CT scan is due tomorrow . Your thoughts on how to cope and best support him would him be helpful. Thank you
Hi and a warm welcome to the Online Community, a Community that no one really looks to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your husbands diagnosis.
A cancer diagnosis brings confusion, stress and many questions but I found talking with other people who are on the same type of journey helped a lot.
The Community is organised into support groups so you may want to start by joining our supportive Pancreatic cancer group as this is the place where you will connect with others walking the treatment journey both as patient or family.
Follow the above link then choose ‘click to join' or ‘join’ when the page opens. You can then introduce yourself, post questions or just join in with existing discussions by clicking on 'reply'.
Talking with others caring for family and friends will help a lot so do checkout our Carers only, Family and friends and Supporting someone with incurable cancer Groups as you will connect with others walking the same journey supporting family and friends through their cancer journey.
