Diagnosed breast cancer 2017, mammograms clear to 2020.  Have had bone scan and consultant phoned yesterday with concerns that there are significant “hot spots”  which he was not expecting (nor I).  Today had bloods taken in preparation for urgent CT scan.

The hotspots are ribs, sternum and lower back. I’d horrendous pain there 4/6 weeks ago and we thought it was a prolapsed disk.

It’s the waiting, worrying and obviously anxious about the results. Consultant, obviously has a good idea but I understand the need for the whole picture.

I think it’s just worse after the year everyone’s experienced and the fact we were meant to be in Australia with our middle daughter for Christmas.  It set me off down the “I will never see her or Oz”‘route totally irrational, I know!

I’m also worrying that everything is out with my control and I don’t know what’s ahead of me.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the Online Community, a Community that no one really looks to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your ongoing concerns.

It is stressful waiting for results and answers but over my 21 years on my cancer journey I found that I could throw all the stress in world at the what if’s and it would make no difference to the outcome but did make a difference as to how I handled what lay ahead. I d wish you well.
