I was diagnosed on 16/12/20 and I had my first course of Chemo on Monday 21/12/20 to say I am frightened is a understatement, the fear of the unknown. It turns your life upside down, not knowing what's going to happen next
Friends have said " stay strong" but it's hard to do that when you're a gibbering wreck inside.
I'm a 68 year old female.
Hi and a warm welcome to the Online Community, a Community that no one really looks to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your DLBCL diagnosis.
A blood cancer cancer diagnosis can bring a lot of confusion, stress and many questions but talking with other people who are on the same type of journey can help a lot.
I was also diagnosed with a rare type of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma way back in 1999 and have had years of treatments so do understand the journey you are on it you do need to know that this is very treatable with good success.
The Community is organised into support groups so you may want to start by joining our supportive Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma group as you will connect with others walking the treatment journey both as patient or family.
Follow the above link then choose ‘click to join' or ‘join’ when the page opens. You can then introduce yourself, post questions or just join in with existing discussions by clicking on 'reply'.
I will keep an eye open for you.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
