Hi I'm new to the group.
I have an emergency appointment for Monday 14th with Gynaecology. I have been having symptoms of OC for nearly two years on and off. I've had various tests which have come back clear but now I have all the symptoms lumped into one. I am 61, my sister died at 60 with this. My GPs were aware of this but didn't investigate further and to be honest, they told me what I wanted to hear that they couldn't find anything. Now I'm really scared that it has spread all over. I have a special needs daughter who is in supported living and very much looking forward to coming home Christmas. I hope my symptoms don't escalate, I don't want her to know yet. Thank you I really needed to get that off my chest.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
It's natural to be scared and we all assume the worst but you've come to the right place to talk to others who are either going through the same thing as you or who have been through it.
As the community is divided up into groups I'm going to suggest that you join the ovarian cancer group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
