My husband was diagnosed with incurable liver cancer a year ago. During this time I have become very anxious and depressed. I grieve for the man he was and am very fearful for the future. People tell me to live one day at a time and make happy memories etc but it is difficult when I feel so miserable. Living outside the UK and being socially isolated doesn't help. I love my husband very much and want to try and be positive and strong for him but feel like a failure at the moment. Please tell me that I am not the only carer who feels like this.
Hello and welcome to the community, although sorry to hear about your husband. I know how hard it can be to look after someone you love. Could I suggest you join the very supportive Carers Only Group . There you will find others in similar situations to yourself and where you will get help and support from others who understand. Click the link to get to the group. You will need to join the group and post there. Any problems finding your way around, then click the reply button below to ask. Best wishes.
HI Hernitage, sorry to hear about your husband. Trust me, you're not the only one. As rily says check out the Carers Only Group and you'll find a few kindred spirits lurking there. Personally, I've never felt as useless in my life as I have these past three months but chatting to others on here in the Carers Group has helped.
big hugs
