Good afternoon everyone. My name is Emma I am 47 years old and have been diagnosed with an Acoustic neuroma. Its the most awful feeling ever. Its completely turned my whole life upside down. I am ver
unsteady on my feet as its severely affecting my balance and im losing my hearing in my right ear. I get terrible headaches and an earache. I now have awful tinnitus which bothers me all day long. Iwork as a healthcare assistant in a hospital and now I cant do that. Im not allowed to drive at the moment so I've lost all my independence. Im unable to go out alone as im so unsafe on my feet. If ay one has been diagnosed with this id be interested how you got on and if you have any advice . Take care

I'm very sorry to read that you have recently been diagnosed with an acoustic neuroma, the symptoms of which sound very unpleasant.
As the community is divided up into various support groups I thought I'd suggest you join the low-grade brain tumours group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis.
