I have been told that it is suspected that I have cancer of the lower jaw, this was presumed to be an abscess for several months but it wasn't improving so the dentist sent an urgent referral to the Maxillofacial Dept of my local hospital Trust. I have had biopsy and CT scan. My gums and inner cheek is very painful and sore and my whole mouth gets sore when I eat. I am on a soft diet, no problem swallowing but chewing food is too uncomfortable. I see the Consultant on the 14 December for the final diagnosis and to see what can be done to help. It is a worrying and unpleasant time, and I wondered if there is any feedback from people in a similar position.
