So, Yesterday I got my biopsy results and it's cancer. Im 36 so it's a bit of a shock!
My main worry is explaining it to my son (age 6) and obviously the idea that it's spread.
Anyone out there with young children? How much did you tell them?
Hello and welcome to the community, although sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Any cancer diagnosis brings up a heap of fears and questions, and it is the uncertainty and not knowing that can cause a lot of anxiety. Once a treatment plan is in place, things tend to become slightly easier as you know something positive is happening and you have something to focus on. If you let us know what particular cancer you have, we can point you to a group where the members with experience will be able to help and support you. As regards talking to children, Macmillan have produced some good information, if you click HERE and I am sure others will be along to share personal experiences. I hope all goes well. Best wishes.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
