Hello everyone my name is Coweeta. I am 21 and have had cancer 3 times 1 time in my right arm 1 time In my chest and 1 time in my back I have seen a lot of struggling people and people who are scared so I’m gonna say this. DO NOT let this beat you I am covered in scars and each one tell a story I have lost my father to cancer and I have had to fight every day to keep going but I wouldn’t let it beat me this is just a small speed bump in the long road of life and I wake up every morning with a smile on my face even when I was going through chemotherapy there will be hard days where you want to give up but those days are the cross roads and you can’t choose to stop I understand a lot of peoples conditions are worse than mine but if you choose to be upset and let it get to you that’s where you need to talk I have seen a lot of people beat cancer but deal with a lot of mental health after because they where not speaking about there feelings it’s okay not to be okay and there is always someone who will listen I hope this helps at least one person today.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to hear that not only have you lost your father to cancer but that you have had cancer three times. You are right that it's important to talk about how you feel and I hope that you'll find the community a safe place to do just that as well as offer support to others.
As the community is divided up into various groups I had a peek at your profile to see what type of cancer you've had but you haven't completed it yet. If you're happy to tell me then I could link you directly to the relevant groups or you could have a look through this list and choose the ones which you feel are right for you. You can then post in the same way as you posted this message and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
