Hi,
I’ve just joined the site after my mums diagnosis - lung cancer and a collapsed lung.
The hardest thing for me is to see my mum in such pain. I finally took her to hospital but she’ll be discharged.
She needs a camera procedure and a biopsy. I’m at my wits end as they are asking her to go to the test on her own (she can’t drive or walk) and then to self isolate for 3 days (don’t want her on her own) and then go for procedure??? This seems crazy to me. Any help?
I know you are all dealing with so much
Thanks x
Hi @meandmum and welcome to the community.
My wife's cancer while not originally from the lung is all over both lungs and she has had plenty of experience of collapsed lungs - they are not nice.
I wonder, have you spoken to the hospital to explain your mothers position since it sounds like there would need to be a care plan in place before she can be discharged and that may well include how she gets back to hospital for any more tests.
Hope you are managing ok to - when a loved one is ill it can be very difficult for all those around her. It might help you to drop in on Family and friends - Discussion Forum or even Carers Only - Discussion Forum where you can meet lots of very supportive people in similar situations to yourself.
<<hugs>>
Steve
