Morning,
Sorry for the rant but I am struggling today, never done this before but here goes.......... was diagnosed in Jan with Breast Cancer Hert2. I have survived 8 rounds of chemo, DIEPP op (7 Weeks ago) my radiotheropy started yesterday and I am struggling with 2 things... the first is the lack of interest my family and friends have they all seem to think that radiotheropy is a doddle and I guess they are so used to hearing about my medical stuff that they think I will whizz through the next 3 weeks.
The second thing is as although it does seem easier I am really struggling with laying there with all my scars on show I have not had time to get used to them and have not even really let my husband see them properly let alone strangers. I am so tired of having to be ok and because of Covid do this all on my own oh and I am so bored of having no hair. Rant over
Hi and welcome to the Online Community, a Community that no one ever really plans to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and ongoing challenges.
I am happy to say that all rants are allowed as a cancer diagnosis brings a lot of confusion, stress and many questions so you do need a safe place where people understand....... but talking with other people who are on the same type of journey helps a lot.
The Community has various support groups and I see you have joined our Breast cancer for the under-50s group and you may find our busy Breast cancer group also helpful. These are the places where you will connect with others walking the treatment journey both as a patient or family.
Its always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support or just a listing ear.
The service is open every day 8am to 8pm and it's free to call on 0808 808 00 00 have a look by Clicking here for more information.
You can also email them, use the online chat and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two working days for replies from our expert team.
All the very best
