  1. "Hi I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer on 15th September at the age of 36yrs. I have had surgery to remove the tumour and also 4 lymph nodes. I've had my results back and lymph nodes have came back negative and surgeon is happy that the cancer is all out and the margins round the cancer tissue is good Slight smile. I am awaiting results of my oncotype test to see if Chemo is needed before I start radiotherapy and hormone treatment. Every day there is a new emotion to experience. I am trying to keep things as normal as possible for my 2 children. I find it very hard to talk to my family and friends about my cancer. I'm the first in our family to be going through this and its the not knowing what to expect from treatments thats terrifying me the most. Does anyone have any advice. Greatly appreciated xx"
  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, a Community that no one ever really plans to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis.

A cancer diagnosis brings a lot of confusion, stress and many questions but talking with other people who are on the same type of journey helps a lot.

The Community has various support groups and I see you have joined our Breast cancer group, you may also find our Breast cancer for the under-50s group helpful as these are the places where you will connect with others walking the treatment journey both as a patient or family.

Follow the above link then introduce yourself, post questions or just  join in with existing discussions by clicking on 'reply'.

Its always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support or just a listing ear.

The service is open every day 8am to 8pm and it's free to call on 0808 808 00 00 have a look by Clicking here for more information.

You can also email them, use the online chat and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two working days for replies from our expert team.

Our Online Information and Support Section  is a good place to find information covering diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers.

    All the very best.
