Hello I'm a newbie who has a million things going around in my head. About ten weeks ago I found a lump in my breast. I went to the Dr who said she doesn't think it's anything to worry about but she would like it checked.
I got an appointment at the breast clinic and was told it's probably a cyst. Had the mammogram and ultrasound and was told they needed to do a biopsy. Had that done there and then and was told I would get a phone call which would probably tell me it's just a normal fibroadenoma that can stay put.
That didn't happen and I was told I needed it taken out to make sure. But nothing to worry about.
On Monday I had the lump removed and now I have a two week wait for results. The surgeon told me it didn't look nasty and not to worry.
All I've done is worry. All along I've been told it's probably nothing but yet I've had a lump removed from my breast and now what???
Sorry for the long post.
Hi and welcome to the Online Community, a Community that no one ever really plans to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your worry about the results after the lump has been removed.
Over the years I have been on the Community there have been many people in the same position as yourself, some did have cancer..... but others did not. I always take the view that until you are told otherwise you don't.
Should you find yourself on the cancer rollercoster the Community has various support groups like our Breast cancer group as this would be the place where you will connect with others walking the treatment journey both as a patient or family.
Follow the above link then choose ‘click to join' or ‘join’ when the page opens.

At the moment you may just want to talk with someone and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support or just a listing ear.
The service is open every day 8am to 8pm and it's free to call on 0808 808 00 00 have a look by Clicking here for more information.
Do come back and tell us how you got on.
All the very best.
We all understand this having been there and done it.
But and in reality you can not control this..... actually this may sound rather simple.... but you can put all the worry in the world into this but it will make no difference to what you are told but makes a big difference in how you will deal with the next week or so.
Do call the help line and talk with our support team.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
