Hi. My names Kate, I’m 46 and after finding a lump 2 weeks ago I have today been for a mammogram, an ultrasound and a biopsy. Consultant said he was ‘worried’ about what he had seen. Someone is calling me on Thursday between 2-4 to tell me the results and tell me what happens next. I’m trying to pretend everything is normal for the kids but keep going to the toilet to cry. Don’t know what to do with myself really.
Hi Kate and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to read that you have a worrying lump but it's great that you don't have long to wait for your results.
As the community is divided up into groups I think you might benefit from joining the breast cancer group where you can talk to others who have had the same type of cancer as you and will understand how you're feeling.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

You're welcome
Hi Katie
Welcome to the community at these troubling times for you I hope you can find support and help when you need it.
hopefully you will receive good news Thursday, not too far away but I know the waiting seems endless, but our doctors and nurses do the very best they can for us, amazing people.
Possibly half term now for your children so hopefully they will keep you distracted for the majority of the time.
just one step at a time Katie
wishing you all the best for good news
Cancer may affect my body, but I won’t let it affect my spirit
Thank you so much for your kind message. It turns out it is cancer but they’re hopeful they’ve caught it early. Its only 2cm but grade 3 so I have a surgery planning appointment next week!
I hope you have good news following your surgery. To go through what you have and be supportive to others is a credit to you.
take care
kate
