Hello I am new to this, but I was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer last year.

I have had chemotherapy and radiotherapy and lucky enough to get accepted for a trial drug too.

I don't really know what to say except I was fine but now find myself feeling really low emotionally as struggle to ask for help and have found myself in a stressful situation, feeling upset and angry as I now can't work and have had 'holiday' from mortgage, loans and now bank and mortgage people are saying if I don't start paying again at end of this month, although they probably can help with extensions it will affect my credit score.  I know it sounds pathetic, but always worked and so frustrated as I can't hlep myself but will be penalised, feel very resentful.

Sorry for ranting but so frustrated.

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, a Community that no one ever really plans to see themselves joining, and so sorry to hear about your diagnosis and ongoing challenges.

First you may want to contact our the Macmillan Support Services as it provides lots of information, financial advice or just a listing ear.

The service is open every day 8am to 8pm and it's free to call on 0808 808 00 00 have a look by Clicking here for more information.

You can also email them, use the online chat and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two working days for replies from our expert team.

A cancer diagnosis brings a lot of confusion, stress and many questions but talking with other people who are on the same type of journey helps a lot.

I had a totally different type of cancer but the Community has various support groups so can I direct you to our Lung Cancer group as this is the place where you will connect with others walking the treatment journey both as a patient or family.

Follow the above link then choose ‘click to join' or ‘join’ when the page opens.

You can then introduce yourself, post questions or just  join in with existing discussions by clicking on 'reply'.

    All the very best.
