Hello I saw my gp who confirmed a lump in my breast. I also have underarm discomfort. It’s 12 days until my appointment at the breast cancer clinic.
I am in pieces, can’t eat and so anxious I feel Ill.
My daughter wants my go to a private hospital to ease the wait, they would do mammogram and ultra sound. Has anyone gone down this route to start with?
really don’t know what to do.
id appreciate any advice.

I'm sorry to read how anxious you're feeling waiting for your appointment at the breast clinic. Whilst it's totally natural to feel anxious it's not good if it's making you feel ill so that you're unable to eat. If, and that's a big if at the moment, you are diagnosed with cancer you need to be as healthy as possible to help your body repair itself after any treatment you might need.
Could I suggest that you take a look at this information from Macmillan on feeling anxious as it has lots of tips to help you overcome these feelings. If you feel your anxiety is getting worse, or the suggestions in the article don't seem to help, then please speak to your GP as they can help you find ways of coping with it.
As the community is divided up into groups I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group. This isn't because I think you have breast cancer but it will give you the opportunity of talking to others who will be able to answer your questions, share their experiences and give you support.
