I was in shock when I was diagnosed. I was in hospital being treated For and infection was given a ct scan that’s when they found a shadow on my lungs. I was then given another ct scan at 530pm I was being told I have bladder cancer which has spread to the liver and lungs. By 545 I’m leaving the hospital. Got appointment Wednesday hopefully to explain a bit more.
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to read that you've just been diagnosed with bladder cancer which has spread to your liver and lungs. It's no surprise that you are in shock as it's a lot to take in. Hopefully, you'll find out what the plan is on Wednesday. I don't know if you'll be allowed to take someone with you but a second pair of ears is always useful. If you're going on your own then take a pad and pen with you to write everything down or ask the consultant if you can record the meeting so you can listen to it again later.
As the community is divided up into groups I'm going to suggest a few for you to join where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others. The first one is the bladder cancer group and the others are the secondary liver cancer and secondary lung cancer groups.
To join any or all of these just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' on the pages that open. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting '+New' or '+' (depending on the device you're using) and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
