Just diagnosed

Hi so I have just returned from the breast clinic with a diagnosis of triple negative breast cancer, I am in a state of shock right now as I genuinely thought this was a cyst.  I am terrified

  • Hi  and welcome to the Online Community, although I am am always sorry to see folks finding us and so sorry to hear about your breast cancer diagnosis.

    A cancer diagnosis brings a lot of confusion, stress and many questions but talking with other people who are on the same type of journey helps a lot.

    The Community has various support groups so can I direct you to our Triple negative breast cancer group as this is the place where you will connect with others walking the treatment journey both as patient or family.

    I think it's worth clarifying what you mean by "triple negative".  If the growths were tested for the presence of cancer and the results were negative, then this would have a completely different meaning, wouldn't it?   In the tense atmosphere of a consultation it's quite easy to misunderstand things.  Do try to clarify it.    If it does mean the worst, then you have my best wishes for successful treatment, and understand that everyone here is going through something similar and were are here to help.

    Hi thank you, I have a plan in place for surgery and chemo so means the worst .
