Hi
I have been diagnosed with a nasopharyngeal cancer. My treatment plan is two induction chemo cycles, PEG insertion and then 30 days of Radiotherapy.
My questions are:
1. has anyone found a good way to secure the PEG tube? I have been given some tape but this keeps catching!
2. has anyone been offered radio-protective medicines to prevent the side effects in the mouth? I am very worried about this as I go into my RT sessions.
Thanks for any comments or suggestions

Hi, I was given ‘Grip-Lok’ (Univeral Securement Device) to secure my peg.I’ve found these the best to hold the line in place, and also easy to remove/ replace daily after showering/ bathing. I was given them by the dietician initially, and now they are on prescription through my GP. It took the pharmacy about a week to get them in, so now I order slightly in advance. Weaker adherents didn’t hold the tube in place very well.
I don’t know anything about radio- protective medicines, but am very impressed you are asking about such things.
