hi, I  have just joined this community as my mother has her 2nd lot of cancer but this time it is terminal lung cancer.  This sounds horrible to say but I am scared every minute since her diagnosis that I am going to get 'the call'to say she has passed and feel like I am missing out on so much with her because of the negative thoughts I am having Disappointed. I am positive around mum and have sorted her finances but find now I have nothing practical to concentrate on, I keep thinking about when she passes and I feel terrible for thinking that way. Has anyone else experienced this Flushed please?x

  • Hi  and welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to read that your mum has recently been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer and it's perfectly normal to have negative thoughts.

The community is divided up into groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the Supporting someone with incurable cancer forum group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who have a loved one with incurable cancer.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting '+New' or '+' (depending on the device you're using) and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your mum's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
