Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to read that you've recently been told that you have cancer and it's perfectly normal to feel scared and worry that your cancer might already be advanced.
As the community is divided up into cancer specific groups I'm going to recommend that you join the Head and neck cancer forum where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who will understand what you're going through.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting '+New' or '+' (depending on the device you're using) and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Take care
Until you have the biopsy result, you don't know what you're dealing with.
My cancer produced lumps which disfigured my face and gave me double vision. I went from no symptoms to having visible deformity over a period of a few weeks. Before starting treatment, I couldn't even open my right eye. All of the lumps and bumps went away quickly once I started treatment, though, and that's apparently normal for the particular type of cancer I had.
It's understandable that you feel scared, but the information you have is currently incomplete. The time when you're waiting to find out more about your cancer and the treatment plan absolutely sucks, but it won't last forever.
Hi , I totally agree with Lolie, until you have all the parts of the jigsaw in place you actually don’t know what this is..... and even then all the stress and worry in the world will make no difference to what you are eventually told..... but will make a big difference as to how you will deal with it.
I was diagnosed way back in 1999 with a rare type of Skin Lymphoma and yes, had years of various treatments but I am in remission and doing great. Sending you positive vibes my friend.
