Hi everyone. I’m not sure if I’m doing this right but here goes. I had been having blood in stool for a while but gp had diagnosed anal fissure. I also was diagnosed two years ago with endometriosis. So last year put left side discomfort down to this. I had been feeling uneasy for a few months and asked gp for referral but she was unsure. Due to some family history she agreed to refer for fit test. Due to covid tvis wasn’t been done. I was sent for ct scan which showed up swelling in rectum. Called for appt and consultant could feel soft lump 7cm up in rectum. Colonoscopy completed with biopsies taken. Results on 29 May were high grade dysplasia but extent not know until excision. 5cm lesion. Referred to another surgeon for consideration for trans anal as opposed to open surgery. Date scheduled for 10 August for flexible sigmoidoscopy was cancelled. New dAte wed 9 august. Surgeon wants to see lesion for himself and decide on best surgery. I’m worried about delay in moving forward. I’m 47 years old with teen daughter. I’ve worked through out this and have tried to push anxious thoughts down but feeling very alone and scared. Haven’t confided in many as want to see what I’m actually dealing with but the waiting has been hard. Sorry for essay but it’s been good for me to get this out. X
