Evening everyone!
I work as a bank health care support worker and tomorrow I'm on a different ward caring for adults living with cancer.
I've never been on this ward and I've just came to get a different perspective and how to give the best care I can along with how I can hold myself together during the shift (I'm usually very emotional )
Hope that's ok with everyone and today has been an ok day x
(So if you've got anything helpful for me to not say or things that have helped you please do share with me if you feel able too)
Hi
The Macmillan website has lots of useful information on how to support someone living with cancer. If you click here the link will take you to the information and support section.
You might find this information on 'what to say to someone who has cancer' a useful starting point. There is also this information on how to cope when a family member or friend has cancer. Although it's really aimed at friends and families of people with cancer rather than professionals you might still find it helpful.
