Hi. 8 weeks ago i was totally out of the blue diagnosed with lung cancer.  Up until that point i had been a fit healthy (mature) athlete. I now can hardly walk the stairs. Yesterday i received my treatment plan which is chemo and immunotherapy, but they said i might not be strong enough for it. I am very confused and scared as have no idea whats going to happen. Everything seems to have taken so long. In the 8 weeks since diagnosis, if it could have gone wrong it has.  Had a stent put in, got partial collapse of the lung, got aspiration pneumonia and steroid induced hypoglycemia. Is this normal or have i just been unlucky.  Thank you

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to read that you've been diagnosed with lung cancer out of the blue. It must have been such a shock to you.

I can see that you've already found, posted in and received replies in the Lung cancer forum group and I'm sure you'll find the other members of the group supportive.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
