My Father was diagnosed with stomach cancer in January, his prognosis was 4-6 months, any chemo would only be palliative. Long story to tell but we are nearing the end. He is in a nursing home, the last three weeks we’ve had two “come quick” calls and I live 2 hours drive away. My nerves are shot to peices, my emotional state is worse than fragile, I think I’m managing but really I’m not. We decamp for the weekend to a hotel to be close to Dad, every other day I drive two hours to spend up to an hour with Dad but most times it ends up being 30 minutes because that’s all he can manage and then I drive two hours home again.  I have a 3 year old and a husband, I’m trying to be everything to everyone and failing miserably at all of them at the moment.
