Hello everyone,

I have cancer in the sigmoid metastasised to my Liver. Diagnosed in 2016 with 6 months to live. I am 64. I have had Folfox, Folfiri and Y90, the tumour was removed but the liver too damaged to resect. My only chance as with everyone else is the knife, ie a transplant, but I am illegible because the cancer is from elsewhere. I am told I am uncommon case, the term was rarer than rocking horse shit.

So why am I here, I want to try and change the system in the time I have left. Shortly there will be a surfeit of organs because of the change in donation policy. Each, tranche of 12 chemo infusions costs approximately £30,000 a transplant £50,000. NICE can save money and someone like me gets the chance of living a fulfilled life.  The first step is already made the 2nd is to start making noise and I hope you all will join in the fight.

In the mean time if you think I can offer any of you some help then type away.

Never give in, never, never, never.

Hello , welcome to the online community, I’m sorry to read that your rare cancer is lacking in treatment that must be hard to mentally process. You said you wanted to be of help to others, the site works very much on a group basis, so I was wondering if the Secondary liver cancer forum might be a group you might like to join. Clicking on the link I have put in will take you there to have a look, see if there are any posts you feel you can respond to or create your own.

I was also wondering if the Macmillan support line 0808 808 0000 might be a good place to talk through your treatment issues, I was thinking the experts on that line might have advocacy or campaigning experience or contacts that might be of help?

Thank you, I am generally passed the psychological issues, I am not sure I really had any. I am British the spirit of Churchill runs through my veins. I will look at your link, thank you.
