Hi,

I've been reading the posts for a few weeks but this is my first. My 38yo wife got diagnosed in Autumn last year with a lung cancer spread to the bones. She had radiotherapy for the bones and chemo for the rest. She was switched to maintenance in April but the scan in July has shown that the treatment had failed to reduce the progression in her lungs, and that it's in her kidneys as well.

We had a plan for a new treatment so we left for a few days before that but my wife came back super tired and out of breath. Now on oxygen therapy and after a week when we thought she would build up strength, we have learned today that one of her lungs isn't working anymore, either due to fluids or just the progression of the cancer.

She's waiting on x-ray results right now and I'm stuck on the car park. I hate all of this so much.

  • Hi  and a warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to read that your wife has lung cancer which has spread to her bones and I can understand why you hate everything that's happening.

As you're aware, the Community is divided up into groups and I can see that you've already joined the Lung cancer forum and Carers only forum groups. The former will be a great place to go to ask questions around your wife's treatment, whilst the later is a great place to share your worries with others who understand what you are going through.

I'm also going to suggest that you join the General Discussion. If you'd like to do this, just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting '+New' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

Thanks very much for completing your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself.
