Hi I had a lumpectomy over a week ago and nymph nodes removed I’m waiting for my results from these biopsy’s in a weeks time.  It’s possible I may have to have another operation either the rest of my lymph nodes removed or and more removed from my breast. It’s been an very upsetting time especially with this COVID and isolating before and afterwards, my family have been supportive but not really had any other support medically, felt left to deal with this by myself not knowing how to feel! Has anyone else felt the same?

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and that you're left not knowing how to feel. I think this is a common feeling no matter what type of cancer you're diagnosed with. I remember very clearly how numb and shocked I felt when I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma nearly 4 years ago now.

However, you've come to the right place to get support from others who understand how you feel. I can see that you've already found and joined the General Discussion and I'm sure if you post there the members will be only to happy to share their experiences and give you support.

When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
