Hi, I am currently caring for my sister who is undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer and recovering from a mastectomy. We are 3 sessions in and it is getting harder and harder to watch her getting weaker, she is barely eating as she has no taste and everything tastes vile to her.
I wanted to join here because I just wanted to speak to people who may be going through a similar experience.
Hi and welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to hear that your sister has been diagnosed with breast cancer and is currently struggling to eat. This must be a very difficult time for you both and I can understand you wanting to talk to others in a similar position.
As the community is divided up into groups, so I'm going to recommend that you join the breast cancer group where you can ask questions and share experiences with others who understand what being treated for breast cancer is like.
I think you might also benefit from joining the family and friends group which is a safe and supportive place to share your worries with others who have a loved one living with cancer.
To join either or both of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the pages that open. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute, it would be really useful if you could pop something about your sister's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Hi , I am sorry to hear about your sister, but I’m glad you’ve found your way here for support. The breast cancer group is very supportive and you would be able to ask if others are experiencing any of the same problems your sister is experiencing. I will put the link below for you to have a look and see if you want to join in a discussion or start your own.

The carers group is equally supportive for carers only coping with a wide range of stuff that they may be able to help you with, the links below.

You may also find this info page useful for your sisters eating issue.
